My Hero Academia, one of the most popular anime and manga, has finally reached its Final War Arc in the manga, with Chapter 400 recently released. While the battle between the heroes and villains has been going on for a while, Chapter 400 took a significant turn in the fight between All For One and All Might.
Also, Weekly Shonen Jump will release the official translation of My Hero Academy Chapter 400 on Tuesday, September 18, 2023, so these spoilers are solely based on Japanese release and fan translations.
To summarize, Chapter 400 shows the conclusion of the battle between Kunieda and Fat Gum, who was assisted by Yuga Aoyama, thanks to the desperate help from the Invisible Girl, Hagakure. Furthermore, All Might’s attempt to injure All For One with the giant laser beam has failed miserably.
Before we dive into Chapter 400 and its spoilers, let’s have a quick recap of what happened in the previous chapter. Chapter 399 proved to be an unfortunate situation for both All Might and other heroes, as everyone was at a disadvantage to their respective villains.
While All For One cornered All Might and constantly injured him by unleashing the endless Rivet Stabs, all 32 Heroes tasked with defeating the villains are wiped out by the serial killer and villain, Kuneida.
Even though Fat Gum and Yuga Aoyama held their ground with great teamwork, the battle scales tipped in favor of Kuneida until eventually, The Invisible Girl supports them, leading to Aoyama launching a Warp Refraction: Navel Lasser to decimate Kuneida with a barrage of light attacks.
On the other side, All Might has finally finished his preparation to lure All For One, and once The Anima returns to connect the power source, a giant laser beam envelops both of them.
Chapter 400 begins with the fight of Kuneida against the last standing team of heroes, including Aoyama, Fat Gum, and The Invisible Girl, which resulted in the defeat of the villain, Kuneida.
However, suddenly, Hagakure becomes visible, and since she’s in her hero costume, her naked body is seen by Aoyama. As she rushes behind the plants generated by Kuneida’s Quirk, she realizes that extreme stress and adrenaline induced in battles can sometimes trigger a glitch in her Quirk.
With that out of the way, although Kuneida is rendered unconscious, his Quirk is wreaking havoc, making it hard for the remaining heroes to thrive. Thus, Aoyama decides to give his all, even though he’s at his wit’s end and can die at any time.
The chapter eventually shifts to the battle between All For One and All Might, as both are hit by the giant laser. Although All For One dodges the laser spectacularly, All Might uses Tentacole and his suit’s thrusters to move away from the blast zone.
However, All Might’s lower half is gravely injured, giving All For One the upper hand in the incoming fight. Regardless, the beacon of hope for humankind, All Might keeps a smile on his face while the scenery shifts to a revelation.
It was shown that a child has been watching the battle between All Might and All For One and rejoicing every time the former came out on top. Given the luminous design surrounding the character, many fans believe All For One may have stolen his first Quirk from the child.
The chapter also included the sudden appearance of Stain to support All Might, making fans anticipate how the story unfolds from here on.
